Drug and Alcohol Support in Hitchin (DASH)

A year round day service support and access to drugs and alcohol services at the DASH drop in centre 25 Nightingale Road, Hitchin. - Open MONDAY, WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY between 10.00 and 16.00 in a joint initiative with Drugsline

In recent seasons a marked difference in the underlying reasons for the Shelters clients homelessness has shown up to 85% of clients now experiencing difficulties through drug addiction. It is important to balance the humanitarian needs of clients with our own legal obligations in respect of illegal substances. This joint initiative can provide further support for our clients. All will have access to:

* qualified drugs counsellors

* Probation partnership workers

* education workers

* arrest referral workers

* alternative therapies

* an information library

* a wide network of statutory and other contacts

Changing peoples lives is not an easy or fast process, but the welcome they receive at the centre creates the possibility of change. Just by walking through the door the client has already taken that first step on the road to rehabilitation.
